I’m not one to normally
quote from the Bible but after Saturday’s revelation I suddenly feel compelled
to. The Biblical story of “Jonah and the Whale” teaches us about
obedience, willingness of spirit, gratitude, compassion and God’s patience and
mercy. If you substitute God for Coach, whale for goals and Jonah for, well
Jonah it pretty much tells the story of the Bangalow
Puppies.

| The girls are now one game away from clinching the Minor
Premiership after they beat Workers on Sunday 4 nil. Naomi Dean scored all four
goals in the match which turned into a training run. Penny Greenhalgh had a
great game on the flanks showing form from the 2007 season. Razzy King made her
long awaited return after a failed trial with Scottish giants Dundee Rangers.
Coach Hanigan is pleased with his troops and his only dilemma is knowing what
players to choose for his starting line up with all sixteen fit and ready to go. | |

The prems have come away with a much needed win on Sunday beating Byron
Rams and holding bragging wrights once again for another year. Jai Campbell and
Azza scored the two goals in a win that must now keep the boys in the top flight
next year. Strikers Azza and Jai were the Bluedogs best along with Joel Rudgley
and maddog Vince Steptoe. Alex Pratt also made some great saves in the dieing
minutes. | |
